No no no... I like the Honda Accord. This can’t be happening. No. No. But I do.

I’m unwilling to be quiet about how truly good the last two generations of Avalon have been.
The new one is good at being good and the one before it (in touring trim) was great at being good.
If I needed a car to cover 25k+ miles a year, I’d get one without a second thought.
There’s no shame in the vanilla game. They serve a purpose and there’s a reason they sell 400k+ units a year.

There is no reason to be upset

Why is it bad to like a very good looking sedan?

I know, I’m saying it that we can appreciate cars that something deep inside of us says we shouldn’t.

Yeah, that’s part of why I now like it. The Accord doesn’t need to be as good as it is, but somehow Honda managed to insert their magic into every one.

I want a 6-speed Sport model.

I think the manual trim ($22/23k) is a great car for me to look into buying.
Then i remember the Mazda6 is even better

Your comment sounded so serene inside my head.

Newer Accords, especially the coupe are good looking cars. There really isn’t anything wrong with them, it’s not a bad thing.

ive always liked the accord. my friend from high school has one. its the generation before this one (later model with chrome grille and bigger taillights) which I think actually looks better than the current one. Silver over black leather seats. looked real clean. Plenty of room inside for four people even five. Totally comfortable, got to drive it a few times one time while my friends were to lazy to get ice cream from the store themselves. drives awesome its an awesome car

The Avalon looks fucking nice.

...meh.
I think the Mazda6 has suitably dethroned it, even without a V6 or hybrid option. It feels fat and bloated now. C&D could take it off their “10Best” list but that’s possibly a paid advertisement by now.

I’ve been missing my 5th gen like crazy lately...
Not mine:
Mine had these wheels, stolen from my Galant when it kicked the bucket.

i hate when people shit on a car just because of some stigma. Accord is a really good car.

It’s okay. I like the way the current gen looks, and I didn’t mind driving my mother’s 2009. I do think V6 coupe with a manual is a good choice.

They’re good-looking, fast, and all the reviews say they handle well for a mid-sizer. Also, six-speed manual if you’re into that.
If I wanted a car that size and age, the Mazda6 is at the top of my list, but the Accord is a close second.
